What does the Spokane County Auditor do?
The Spokane County Auditor is an elected, partisan office responsible for administering county and federal elections within Spokane County, maintaining real-property recording, processing vehicle and vessel titles and registrations, and serving as the county’s chief financial officer. The office is established under RCW 36.22.
When is the 2026 Spokane County Auditor election?
Two dates matter:
  • Primary election — Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Washington uses a top-two primary: the top two vote-getters advance to the general regardless of party. Ballots are mailed roughly three weeks before election day; voter registration changes for the primary close online by July 27 and same-day in-person at the County Elections Office through 8 PM on August 4.
  • General election — Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Online voter registration closes October 26; same-day in-person registration runs through 8 PM on November 3.

Washington is an all-mail voting state — every active registered voter receives a ballot in the mail. Candidate filing for partisan county offices opens in mid-May 2026. Register, check your registration, or track your ballot at votewa.gov.

The Washington PDC contribution limit is $1,200 for the primary and $1,200 for the general, for a total of $2,400 per individual. A couple can give up to $4,800 ($2,400 per spouse). Contributions are not tax deductible.
